About Portrajt.jpg

Richard has spent decades practicing and teaching yoga, for which he became certified in 2019. He has facilitated retreats, attended numerous yogic/meditative courses and has maintained his physical and mental health on his mat and cushion both in and out of studios. To supplement those practices, he considers music and soundwork to be catalysts for spiritual growth. For him, harnessing frequency is a teacher borne of intuition and instinct for both the being holding the instrument and the receiver of sound.

Upon losing much of his vision in 2023, Richard found his attunement to the hearing sense magnified. While life’s newfound challenges presented pain and difficulties, he allowed his shifted sensory experience to be a guide. By allowing life to unfold serendipitously, he’s found his way to providing sound and spiritual spaces for countless others with whom he feels fortunate to cross paths.

"I recently took a yoga class that Richard accompanied with his wide variety of instruments. I’ve practiced with music before, and it’s always enjoyable. This class, however, was truly elevated. Richard created a sonic experience that melded beautifully with the yoga flow, transporting my mind and soul in tandem with my body in a unique way. Others must have felt the same because I overheard more than one person commenting on how moving it was. I very much look forward to taking another class with Richard‘s sonic accompaniment."
